Main Ingredients

  • 2 large Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes Choose firm, fresh potatoes for perfect texture.
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder Offers a savory kick that elevates flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (optional) Adds a subtle smokiness and a vibrant color.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or cooking spray To help achieve that perfect crispy finish.
  • 1/2 tsp salt Enhances all the flavors of the potatoes.
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper For a touch of warmth and spice.
  • to taste fresh herbs or grated parmesan Optional topping to enhance presentation and taste.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash the potatoes thoroughly. Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice them into rounds approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick.
  • Soak the potato rounds in cold water for 15 to 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat the slices dry completely.
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the dried potato slices with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Cooking

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) if recommended by your model.
  • Place potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap.
  • Air fry the slices for 12 to 18 minutes, flipping or shaking them halfway through cooking.
  • Once done, remove from the air fryer and sprinkle with fresh herbs or grated parmesan if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Soaking the potato slices is key to achieving crispiness. Experiment with adding lemon zest or spices like cayenne for heat.
