Ingredients

For the Cake Base

Instructions

Preparation

  • Line a springform cake tin with parchment paper and place a nori sheet at the bottom.
  • Add half of the sushi rice into the tin and press it down gently.
  • Layer half of the avocado slices, followed by cucumber and sushi-grade fish.
  • Repeat the layering with another half of sushi rice, remaining avocado, cucumber, and fish.
  • Finish with a final layer of sushi rice and press down gently.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Serving

  • Remove the cake from the tin and peel off the parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds and nori strips on top.
  • Serve alongside soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.

Notes

Ensure fresh sushi-grade fish for the best flavor. Use a rice cooker for perfect sushi rice. Vegetarian variations are possible by using extra vegetables like bell peppers or tofu. Experiment with different sauces such as spicy mayo or eel sauce.
