Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 9x5-inch loaf pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and optional garlic powder.
  • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and honey together until well combined.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined.
  • Spread the batter evenly into your prepared loaf pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the bread is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.

Notes
