Ingredients

Filling Ingredients

  • 8 oz lump crab meat or imitation crab, chopped Use fine-quality crab meat for the best flavor.
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure it's well-softened for easy mixing.
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Can substitute with pepper jack for a spicy kick.
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise For a lighter option, use reduced-fat mayonnaise.
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning A key ingredient for flavor.
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Dough Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash) Provides a golden crust.
  • 1 tbsp Everything Bagel seasoning or sesame seeds & garlic flakes Optional for extra flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat with softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, and mayonnaise.
  • Add fresh chives, garlic powder, and Old Bay seasoning; season with salt and black pepper. Stir until well-combined.

Assembling

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles.
  • Place a spoonful of crab filling at the wider end of each triangle, and roll it up starting from the wide end, tucking in the sides.

Baking

  • Brush each roll with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  • Sprinkle with Everything Bagel seasoning if desired, and bake for 12-15 minutes.

Serving

  • Allow rolls to cool slightly before serving warm. Pair with garlic butter or lemon aioli for dipping.

Notes

For creamier filling, ensure cream cheese is soft. To spice it up, add jalapeños or hot sauce. Avoid overcrowding on the baking sheet for crispy rolls.
