Instructions

Preparation

  • Soak the shrimp in buttermilk for 15 minutes.
  • While shrimp soak, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne in a bowl.

Cooking

  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (or 180°C).
  • Remove shrimp from buttermilk, shake off excess, and dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.
  • Fry shrimp in batches for 2 – 3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Drain shrimp on a paper towel-lined plate and drizzle with hot honey.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.

Notes

Double-dip the shrimp for extra crunch. Maintain oil temperature for best frying results. Adjust cayenne for desired spice level.
