Ingredients

Feta Sticks

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour Binds everything together for a delightful crust.
  • 1 ea egg, beaten For a rich, golden coating.

Hot Honey Drizzle

  • 2 tbsp honey Sticky and sweet, offering a syrupy finish.
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes or hot sauce For a kick that enhances the overall experience.
  • pinch salt To elevate and harmonize the flavors.

Preparation

  • Cut the feta into thick, rectangular sticks—aim for about 6 to 8 pieces. Pat each stick dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • Set up your breading station: place flour in one bowl, the beaten egg in a second bowl, and mix panko breadcrumbs with crushed pistachios in a third bowl.
  • Dip each feta stick in flour, then in beaten egg, and finally in the panko-pistachio mix, pressing firmly to ensure coating adheres.
  • Refrigerate coated feta sticks for 15-20 minutes to firm them up.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F). Lightly spray the coated feta sticks with oil.
  • Air-fry for 6–8 minutes, turning halfway, until golden brown.
  • In a small bowl, warm honey slightly and mix in chili flakes and salt to create the hot honey drizzle.
  • Once feta sticks are out of the fryer, drizzle the hot honey over them and optionally sprinkle with crushed pistachios and fresh herbs.

Notes

For best results, dry the feta and chill the coated sticks. Consider variations with different nuts and honey drizzles.
