Ingredients

  • 3 cups Chex cereal (Rice or Corn)
  • 2 cups mini pretzels
  • 1 cup cheese crackers
  • 1 cup oyster crackers
  • 1/2 cup dried or freeze-dried dill pickle slices

Seasoning Mix

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp dill pickle juice
  • 1 tbsp dried dill
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar (optional, for balance)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Chex cereal, mini pretzels, cheese crackers, oyster crackers, and dried dill pickle slices.
  • In a separate small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, dill pickle juice, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and if desired, sugar.
  • Drizzle the prepared seasoning mix over the dry ingredients and toss gently to coat.

Baking

  • Spread the Chex mix evenly onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.

Cooling

  • Once baked, take the Chex mix out of the oven and let it cool completely before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding cayenne pepper or chopped green onions. Customize the mix by using flavored crackers or different types of cheese crackers. Store in an airtight container to keep fresh and crunchy.
