  • 1 teaspoon finely crushed dill weed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup dill pickle juice
  • 2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
  • a few drops green food coloring (optional)

Preparation

  • Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over the dill pickle juice in a small saucepan. Allow it to sit for about five minutes.
  • Warm the saucepan over low heat. Stir the mixture gently until the gelatin completely dissolves. Add the granulated sugar, garlic powder, and dill weed. If using, add green food coloring at this stage and mix well.
  • Carefully pour the gelatin mixture into your gummy worm molds using a dropper or small spoon, ensuring to fill each mold completely.
  • Place the filled molds in the refrigerator and allow them to chill for 1 to 2 hours, or until the gummies are firm to the touch.
  • Once set, carefully pop the gummies out of the molds and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Notes

To ensure your gummy worms come out perfectly, stir the gelatin mixture constantly while heating to prevent lumps. Experiment with adding different spices or herbs for unique flavors. Use parchment paper between layers of gummies to prevent sticking. Make ahead of time for events or gatherings.
