Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Spread the uncooked rice evenly in an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  • Pour the beef broth over the rice, followed by the French onion soup, ensuring the liquid evenly covers the grains.
  • Evenly distribute the cold butter slices over the top.
  • Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and return the dish to the oven for another 25 minutes.
  • Once done, fluff the rice with a fork and sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the top.

Notes

For best results, consider using homemade beef broth for deeper flavor. Add mushrooms or use vegetable broth for a vegetarian version. For added richness, top with cheese before baking.
