For the filling

  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter Choose a smooth variety for a luxurious filling.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Elevates the flavor profile without overpowering.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Contributes to the filling's silken texture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the other flavors.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Creates a light, airy texture.

For the topping

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Provides a delicious coating.
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips Sweetens the topping.
  • 1/4 cup chopped peanuts (optional) Adds a delightful crunch.

Instructions

Create the Crust

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed chocolate graham crackers and melted butter. Mix until the crumbs absorb the butter. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Place it in the refrigerator to chill.

Prepare the Filling

  • In another large bowl, beat together the creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, softened butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Whip the Cream

  • In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

Combine the Mixtures

  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the peanut butter mixture until fully incorporated.

Fill the Crust

  • Remove the chilled crust and spoon the peanut butter filling into it, smoothing the top with a spatula. Chill for at least 2 hours.

Melt the Chocolate

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips. Melt in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.

Top the Pie

  • Pour the melted chocolate over the top of the pie and spread it evenly. Optionally, sprinkle chopped peanuts on top.

Final Chill

  • Chill the pie for an additional 30 minutes to set the chocolate completely.

Notes

Ensure your butter is at room temperature for a smoother filling. Use quality peanut butter and chill the pie adequately to allow the filling to set properly.
