  • 1 lb baby carrots Fresh baby carrots for best flavor.
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar Adds sweetness to the glaze.
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt Add to boiling water.
  • 1 tbsp fresh orange juice Optional for added flavor.
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley For garnish.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place the baby carrots in a pot filled with enough water to cover them and add a pinch of salt.
  • Bring the water to a boil and cook the carrots for about 7 to 10 minutes or until they are fork-tender. Drain them well.

Making the Glaze

  • In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  • Add the honey, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Allow the mixture to bubble for about one minute.

Combining Carrots and Glaze

  • Add the cooked carrots to the skillet and gently toss them in the glaze until evenly coated.
  • If using, add the orange juice and continue cooking for another five minutes, stirring frequently.

Serving

  • Transfer the glazed carrots to a serving dish and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

To enhance flavor, consider adding a splash of balsamic vinegar. For crunch, try adding toasted nuts. For quicker prep, use pre-cut baby carrots.
