Ingredients

For the beef filling

  • 1 lb ground beef Opt for lean ground beef (like 90/10) to keep your wraps lighter.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Adds aromatic depth to the beef.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Offers a subtle onion flavor that enhances the wrap.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Brings out the flavors and boosts savoriness.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Adds a hint of spiciness and warmth.

For the filling

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Melts beautifully for a classic cheeseburger taste.
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Contributes creaminess and stretchiness.
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes Fresh and juicy, add color and brightness.
  • 2 pieces green onions, chopped Provide a hint of freshness.
  • 4 large flour tortillas Soft and pliable, they wrap everything together perfectly.
  • Ketchup Optional, classic condiment for burgers.
  • Mustard Optional, adds a zesty bite.
  • Pickles Optional, crunchy and tangy.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Use a wooden spoon to break it apart as it cooks. Stir occasionally until it is browned, about 5-7 minutes. Be sure to drain any excess grease.
  • Once the meat is cooked, sprinkle in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
  • Lay a flour tortilla flat on a clean cutting board. Sprinkle a layer of shredded cheddar cheese followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese.
  • Spoon a portion of the seasoned ground beef over the cheese. Top with diced tomatoes and chopped green onions. Drizzle ketchup or mustard if desired.
  • Carefully fold the sides of the tortilla inward over the filling, then roll it up tightly from the bottom.

Cooking

  • Heat a grill pan or another skillet over medium heat. Place the wraps seam-side down in the hot pan. Cook until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Once cooked, remove the wraps from the pan and let them cool slightly. Slice in half and serve warm.

Notes

Feel free to customize the fillings and use different types of cheese, or add different proteins like turkey or plant-based alternatives.
