Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for sautéing and rich flavor.
  • 1 pound ground beef the protein-packed star of the dish.
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano adding depth and warmth.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped providing sweetness and aromatics.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced enhancing the dish with a bold kick.
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped contributing vibrant color and nutrients.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika lending a smoky undertone.
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese offering a tangy creaminess.
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish) bringing freshness and color to the presentation.
  • to taste salt and pepper enhancing all the flavors.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by heating 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Once hot, add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing for 3–4 minutes until they soften and become fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook for around 5–7 minutes, or until the meat is thoroughly browned. If there's excess fat, drain it from the skillet.
  • Stir in the fresh spinach, dried oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper. Continue to cook this mixture for 3–4 minutes, allowing the spinach to wilt and the flavors to meld together nicely.
  • Once the spinach is wilted, remove the skillet from heat, and sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese generously over the beef mixture.
  • Top with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color, and serve warm for a delightful meal.

Notes

For a healthier twist, opt for lean ground beef or ground turkey. Feel free to incorporate more vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms. For spiciness, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce. Substitute feta with goat cheese or parmesan for different flavors.
