Ingredients

For the pinwheels

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed Light and crispy base for pinwheels.
  • 1/3 cup pepper jelly (red or hot-sweet) Provides sweet and spicy flavor.
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar Adds bold and creamy depth.
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh chives Adds a fresh onion flavor.
  • 1 each egg, beaten For egg wash, giving a glossy finish.

  • pinch none chili flakes for garnish Optional for added heat.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Unroll the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle.
  • Spread a thin layer of pepper jelly evenly over the pastry.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar evenly across the jelly layer.
  • Add chopped chives over the top.
  • Roll the pastry tightly into a log from the long side.
  • Slice into 1-inch rounds using a sharp knife.
  • Brush each pinwheel with beaten egg.
  • Place into a preheated air fryer basket lined with parchment paper.

Cooking

  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  • Sprinkle with extra chives and optional chili flakes while warm.

Serving

  • Serve immediately for the best crunch and heat.
