Instructions

Preparation

  • Combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand.
  • Press the crumb mixture into a 9-inch pie dish to form an even crust. Chill in the refrigerator while preparing the filling.

Filling Preparation

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the orange Jello and boiling water until fully dissolved. Stir in the cold water and allow to cool for about 10-15 minutes.
  • In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually incorporate the cooled Jello mixture while mixing.
  • Fold in the thawed whipped topping and orange zest, if using.

Assembly and Chilling

  • Pour the filling into the chilled graham cracker crust, smoothing the top. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  • Before serving, top with swirls of extra whipped cream and garnish with orange slices or wedges.

Notes

For best results, chill your mixing tools before preparing the cream cheese. You can customize flavors by adding orange juice or using different Jello flavors. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
