Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) so it’s ready for baking.
  • Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions, ensuring they’re al dente. Drain and set them aside.
  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Remember to drain any excess fat to keep it from becoming greasy. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, along with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let this mixture simmer for about 5 minutes to meld the flavors.

Assembly and Baking

  • In a baking dish, layer the cooked noodles, followed by the beef mixture, ricotta cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers as necessary, finishing with a final layer of mozzarella cheese. Top generously with Parmesan cheese.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Add veggies like spinach or zucchini for added nutrition. Ground turkey or chicken can serve as leaner protein options. Make ahead by assembling and refrigerating until ready to bake.
