Ingredients

Flatbread Base

  • 1 piece store-bought flatbread or pizza dough You can use naan or homemade pizza dough as alternatives.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil To brush on the flatbread for added flavor and crispiness.

Toppings

  • 1 piece ripe but firm pear, thinly sliced Choose a ripe yet firm pear for the best texture.
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts Chop walnuts to add crunch.
  • 1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese Select a quality Gorgonzola for depth of flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze For drizzling before serving, adds flavor.
  • 2 cups arugula To add freshness and a peppery flavor.

Seasoning

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Place the flatbread on a baking sheet and brush it with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  • Lay the thin slices of pear evenly over the flatbread.
  • Scatter the crumbled Gorgonzola and chopped walnuts on top of the pears.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Assembly

  • While the flatbread bakes, toss the arugula with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Once the flatbread is out of the oven, top it with the dressed arugula.
  • Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the flatbread.
  • Slice and serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use quality Gorgonzola cheese. Consider adding fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary for extra flavor, or drizzle honey over the flatbread for added sweetness. This dish can also be paired with a fresh salad or served as an appetizer.
