Ladyfingers and Toppings

  • 20-24 pieces ladyfinger cookies Soaked in coffee to create the dessert base.
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder Balances the sweetness of the cream.
  • 1/4 cup chopped pistachios For topping and adding texture.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, combine softened mascarpone cheese, pistachio paste, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped cream.
  • Mix the cooled strong coffee with pistachio liqueur (if using) in a separate bowl.

Assembly

  • Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and arrange a layer at the bottom of your serving dish.
  • Top with a layer of the creamy pistachio mascarpone mixture. Repeat the process with another layer of ladyfingers and mascarpone, finishing with a final layer on top.

Chilling

  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible.

Finishing Touch

  • Dust with cocoa powder and sprinkle with chopped pistachios before serving.

Notes

For added flavor depth, mix half coffee and half milk for the coffee mixture. Use fresh mascarpone and pistachio paste for best results. You can substitute part of the heavy cream with yogurt for a lighter version.
