Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the strawberry cake mix, strawberry gelatin, eggs, vegetable oil, milk, and mashed fresh strawberries. Mix until smooth.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

Glazing

  • Whisk together the powdered sugar, strawberry puree, and lemon juice until smooth. Add pink gel food coloring if desired.
  • Once the cake is cool, pour the glaze over it, allowing it to flow over the edges.
  • Top with halved strawberries for decoration.

Notes
