Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
  • Layer the sliced Vidalia onions evenly in the dish.
  • Sprinkle the onions with salt, garlic powder, and dried oregano.
  • Place the sliced pats of butter evenly over the onions.
  • Sprinkle the Italian blend cheese and shredded cheddar over the onions.
  • Generously sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Baking

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbling and the onions are tender.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding smoked paprika or fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary. The dish can be prepped ahead of time and refrigerated before baking. For a thicker consistency, add flour before layering.
