  • 1 tbsp lime zest Releases a refreshing citrus aroma.
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar Adds a hint of sweetness.
  • 1/4 tsp chili-lime seasoning or Tajín Optional, for a zesty kick.

For the Coconut Lime Dip

  • 1/2 cup coconut yogurt Or plain Greek yogurt with coconut extract.
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup For natural sweetness.
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice Enhances flavor.
  • 1 tsp lime zest Adds freshness.
  • a pinch salt Balances flavors.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by slicing seedless watermelon into thin fry-shaped sticks, about 1/2 inch thick. Chill the watermelon fries in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.
  • In a small bowl, combine the lime zest and granulated sugar. Mix well and sprinkle generously over the watermelon sticks. Optionally, add Tajín for a spicy twist.
  • In another bowl, whisk together coconut yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), fresh lime juice, lime zest, and a small pinch of salt until smooth. Chill for about 10 minutes if time permits.

Serving

  • Arrange the watermelon fries on a platter and serve with the coconut lime dip in the center. Garnish with additional lime zest.

Notes

For a fun twist, try garnishing with fresh mint leaves or edible flowers. You can mix up the dip with vanilla extract or cinnamon for added flavor. Consider using other fruits like mango or pineapple for variants. The watermelon fries can also be frozen for a refreshing treat.
